汐越や鶴はぎぬれて海涼し
shiokoshiya turuhagi nurete umi suzushi
しおこしや つるはぎぬれて うみすずし
【教秀意訳】汐越（海と潟のさかい目）が見えます。そこは、河口が砂で海とへだており、今は満潮時なので波であらわれています。ちょうどそこに鶴たちが降り立って、すずしげな波しぶきをかぶっています。その鶴の脛はぎ（足の部分）が海水に濡れて見るからに涼しそうなながめです。
The meaning of this haiku
I see the sea and a boundary line of the liman. In there, the exit of the river parts from the sea in sand. I appear in a wave now because it is a high tide. Cranes get down on there and just take cool sea spray. The part of the foot of the crane gets wet with seawater, and it is a cool view.
